All-new content brings Summer Blockbuster storytelling to millions of young readers worldwide across the U.S.
SAN JOSE, CA – Epic, the leading digital reading platform for kids, today announced a new collaboration with Disney timed to the theatrical release of Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5. Starting June 19, current and future Epic eBook users will be able to enjoy a curated collection of Toy Story 5-inspired books on the digital platform, giving young readers even more ways to engage with new and beloved characters, stories, and themes.
The launch is part of Epic’s broader Summer Hits campaign, designed to connect reading with stories kids are already passionate about across movies, TV, and culture. These new titles inspired by Toy Story 5 — designed to support early and independent readers across multiple levels and formats and featuring brand-new characters from the film — are the latest to join an existing, growing catalog of 100s of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic books available via mobile and web on Epic’s platform. This collection of books and audiobooks provide a mix of fan-favorite characters and real-world topics, help build confidence toward reading, and keep curiosity going throughout the summer.
Epic’s Summer Hits campaign is built for both educators and families, offering content that keeps children reading outside the classroom while giving teachers tools to maintain momentum before, during, and after the school year. To access these titles, including Toy Story 5-inspired content, interested users can explore three available subscription-based tiers:
- Epic School: Free access to Epic library of books for students and teachers on weekdays from 7am–4pm
- Epic School Plus: 24/7 access to Epic’s full library of books for teachers and students, funded by schools and districts
- Epic Family: Free trial available for first seven days before a monthly option of $13.99 / month or an annual option of $7.25 / month (billed as $84.99 annually)
“Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars’ unforgettable stories, characters, and settings are a staple in children’s lives,” said Julia Horowitz, Chief Content Officer at Epic. “National Geographic’s photographic nonfiction sparks kids’ love of learning in their everyday life. We are additionally thrilled to offer Toy Story 5-inspired titles that celebrate the stories of the new film and create meaningful reading moments at home and in the classroom.”
