If your family participates in an Education Savings Account (ESA) or education scholarship program, you may be able to use those funds to get a full year of Epic Family, giving kids access to 40,000+ books, audiobooks and learning videos at no additional cost to your family.

Epic is currently available through eligible education funding programs in Utah and Florida. Here’s what families participating in these programs need to know about accessing Epic Family.

Find Epic in your state:

Utah | Florida

What Is an Education Savings Account (ESA)?

An Education Savings Account, or ESA, is a state-funded program that allows eligible families to use allocated funds for qualifying educational expenses.

Programs and eligible expenses vary by state. Families should consult their state or program administrator for current information about eligibility, available funds and qualifying purchases.

What Can ESA Funds Be Used For?

Eligible expenses vary by state, so families should always check their specific program requirements. Depending on the program, education funds may help cover things like:

  • Curriculum and instructional materials
  • Books and educational resources
  • Tutoring and other learning services
  • Educational technology
  • Approved digital learning programs and subscriptions

Why Use Education Funds for Epic Family?

Epic Family gives kids ages 12 and under a place to explore 40,000+ books, audiobooks and learning videos, with choices for different interests and reading levels.

Kids can read on a tablet, computer or even a phone (great for audiobooks!), whether they’re curled up on the couch after school or looking for something new to explore over the weekend. And for kids who already use Epic in the classroom, Epic Family can help extend that familiar reading experience beyond the school day.

For families looking to make screen time more purposeful, it’s also an opportunity to turn some of that device time into reading time. Whether kids are diving into a graphic novel, listening to an audiobook or following their curiosity from dinosaurs to space to sharks in a single afternoon.
