Fright Night might be a little more low key this year, but there are so many ways to get in the spooky spirit. We’ve put together a few ideas in our latest Boredom Busters activity book. The Halloween-themed issue features crafts, snacks and more you can do right from home.

Plus you get to meet Gertie, the kooky custodian from our new Epic Originals book, Creepy Cafetorium: The Gelatinous Twin. She’ll guide you through three different activities, all of which were inspired by Epic Originals series like Bark Park, Bright Family and of course, Creepy Cafetorium. Get step-by-step instructions and a list of materials for:

  • Cosmic Costumes
Use a cardboard box or paper grocery bag to make an out-of-this-world helmet.
  • Mummy Toast
Whatever your plans, you’re sure to work up an appetite. Make these cute (and creepy!) snacks.
  • Trick-or-Treat, Hide and Seek
Skipping the neighborhood trick-or-treating? Try this fun candy hunt in your house or yard!

For previous Boredom Busters featuring their favorite Epic Originals characters, go here.

Want more ways to haunt the house? Look to books!

From cute pumpkins and funny witches to bone-chilling bats and spooky skeletons, there’s something for every kid (and scare tolerance!) in our Halloween collection. For thrilling tales from Scotland, Mexico, Russia and more, read the Spooky Stories From Around the World post on our blog.

And be sure to check out Creepy Cafetorium: The Gelatinous Twin—the first in a series of tales about all the mysterious happenings at Newville Elementary. Hint: Nothing is what it seems, and you can have too much of a good thing.

Happy Halloween!
