On Saturday I was invited to Teddy Minkoff’s birthday party I didn’t want to go You have to go Mom said Teddy is your best friend I went At the party we played games We ate cake and ice cream We opened presents And then came Happy the Clown honking his bicycle horn flapping his big shoes throwing confetti He squirted Teddy with water from a plastic flower Happy began to make balloon animals Everyone lined up He made Teddy a dog He made Esther Simkin a horse All the kids got one until only I was left And what kind of animal do you want young man Happy asked me That’s okay Dad I said I’ll pass
