STEAM & Ice — page 10 — of September girls were getting ready for winter sports tryouts I felt a shiver of sadness not ready for the cold months to hit Fall was my favorite time of year on the Cape During summer our salty seaside town turns into a tourist hot spot When August ends the streets clear out and the town becomes the sleepy community us year-round locals love so much But then winter hits The brisk days are replaced by harsh winds Even the grumpiest old men yearn for the humid summer crowds I had spent all weekend brainstorming for the STEAM Expo and had come up with a few possible ideas My favorite so far was a birdhouse made out of different types of birdseed It would allow birdwatchers to track which types of food was most popular as their feathered friends pecked away I needed time in the Makerspace to test out animal-friendly adhesives But my schedule today 13
