Giant Bubbles Make your own bubble mix and get ready for some giant bubble fun What You Need 4 4 4 4 4 4 Six cups of water One cup of dishwashing liquid One tablespoon of glycerin available in drugstores or corn syrup Basin or dishpan Wire hanger Masking tape Science Notes Bubbles pop when they dry out Adding glycerin or corn syrup slows down the drying time and makes the bubbles last longer and get bigger If you don’t have glycerin or corn syrup try adding sugar or gelatin powder to your bubble mix If you are making bubbles outside your bubbles will last longer on humid or rainy days You will also get stronger bubbles if you let the mix sit for a day or put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes before using it 4

What You Do Tape together the long sides of the poster board to form a tube Decorate the tube by gluing on torn pieces of colored tissue paper Tear strips of crepe paper for streamers Tape the streamers to one end of the tube Punch two holes in the rim on the other end of the tube Thread the string or yarn through each hole Knot the string Hang your wind sock outside and watch it blow in the breeze Or run with it and watch the streamers fly Can you tell which way the wind is blowing 7
