"Ventoso introduces emergent readers to wind and its associated weather conditions while providing them with an immersive reading experience. The Ventoso book uses carefully crafted text using high-frequency words, repetitive sentence patterns, and strong visual references. This supports emergent readers, therefore making sure they aren’t facing too many challenges at once. The Ventoso book also includes tools for teachers as well as introductory nonfiction features such as labels, a table of contents, words to know, and an index. The Ventoso book encourages children to ask questions about the weather while also addressing them."
