Loud and Soft helps emergent readers understand and differentiate between these opposites while providing them with a supportive first nonfiction reading experience. Carefully crafted text uses high-frequency words, repetitive sentence patterns, and strong visual references to support emergent readers, ensuring reading success by making sure they aren’t facing too many challenges at once. Loud and Soft includes tools for teachers as well as introductory nonfiction features such as labels, a table of contents, words to know, and an index.
