IDAHO GEOGRAPHY some some say Idaho is shaped like an old logger's boot Its narrow panhandle juts up to the north At its narrowest it is only about 45 miles 72 km across The southern part of Idaho is much wider It measures about 305 miles 491 km from east to west From north to south the state is 479 miles 771 km long Six states border Idaho Washington and Oregon are to the west To the east are Montana and Wyoming Nevada and Utah are on Idaho's southern border The Canadian province of British Columbia borders Idaho to the north Northern Idaho's panhandle is filled with beautiful mountains forests and lakes IDAHO 8
