As you pull a fish leaps out of the water It’s a massive rainbow trout The trout tries to dart away but you hold firm You fight against the fish and gradually reel it in closer Finally the trout tires itself out You use your net to scoop it out of the water People have enjoyed fly-fishing since ancient times In (cid:141)(cid:141) CE a Roman author described people fishing with fake flies in southern Europe Centuries later in the early ƒ (cid:141)(cid:141)s British anglers fly-fished for trout and grayling along the banks of rivers and streams During the next century this method of fishing spread throughout the rest of Europe By the late 6
