Gerbils and Hamsters — page 3 — G e rbil or Hamster Hamsters and gerbils are both easy to keep However there are some differences to think about before you decide which species to buy Night and Day In the wild hamsters hunt for food at night when there are fewer predators around In the same way your pet hamster will sleep during the day and come out only in the evening Gerbils are active during the day just like their wild cousins and sleep at night PET POINT Hamsters are active at night so it’s best not to keep your pet in your bedroom Your pet s hamster will want to play at night This could be noisy 6
