Rescue Squad: Saving Lives — page 3 — DD RESCUE SQUAD Saving Lives TERROR AT THE TWIN TOWERS In September 11 2001 terrorists flew a hijacked airliner into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City Jay Jonas and five other firefighters from his team rushed to the scene GET OUT FAST Just as the firefighters started climbing the stairs to rescue people trapped high above another plane hit the South Tower As they reached the 28th floor the building shook Captain Jonas had no choice he ordered his men to get out On the way down they found a woman who was too exhausted to walk down the stairs The unit stopped to help her even though it slowed down their own escape A Firefighters carry an injured colleague from the wreckage of the Twin Towers on 9 11 A fire truck stands amid the grey dust that blanketed Manhattan after the towers
